A Friend, A Good Friend, A True Friend....

It is really true.. There are some people with whom you share a relationship - the one which you adore the most.. It often happens that you can't properly classify that relationship..  Most of the living soul out there would have someone, who is more than a friend and yet lesser than a soulmate.. I am lucky I have one kinda person as I have mentioned and let me call her 'G', just for the obvious reasons of not letting information be public ;).. Well people closer to me, would have easily found out who this person is..

Well, there is always this problem in here, that if a boy and girl are close, people start teasing them.. I had given a thought about writing this post first, but yeah, I am sure that myself and G know whats there between us.. To all those perverts out there, seriously, we are 'just friends' :P and I sincerely advice not to cook up stories on your own ;)

Just to give a brief introduction about G - shrewd, "dumb", sweet, helpful, caring, forgetful, ever-smiling, intelligent, book-worm, conservative, blah blah blabbering (now, thats common for a girl, isnt it ?!?!), clever, easily fooled etc etc.

Well, what has she been to me, to make me write this post.. If there's someone who could figure out am not doing good, it would be her.. Someone who has listened to all my rantings, whenever am pissed.. Someone who wants to hear my opinion on things.. Someone who just makes my day bright, with her standard "hi pa.. gm" IM's every morning.. Someone who doesn't let me work in office because of her IMs (just kidding ;) ).. Someone who has stood with me at the right places and at the right times.. Someone who gets to know the first-hand information about me almost instantaneously.. Someone who shamelessly selects girl friends for me :) (tamil la 'mama'  nu solluvaanga ;) ).. Someone whom I tease a lot and sometimes vice-versa too.. Someone whom I can confide things and someone who trusts me equally.. Someone whom I will remember all through my life..

Yeah, this does kinda sound like an Orkut Testimonial, doesn't it ?!.. I thought I wasn't appreciating things/people with me.. As a first measure, I thought it would be great to write about someone whom I know almost very well.

P.S : To G, Hope you had a wide smile when you read this post.. And yeah, I almost forgot, "Best wishes for your 'soon to happen' Married Life" ;)...

True, Indeed...

For the past week or two, I kept myself pre-occupied with a book titled “34 Bubblegums and Candies” – a compilation of real life stories.. Gazing at the books in Landmark, this book’s title attracted me and a quick read through the preface, literally grabbed my mind to buy rite away..

Well, this book for sure, is a kind of “Chicken Soup for Indian Soul”.. I tried reading Chicken Soup for Indian Soul a couple of times, but that didn’t grab my attention as this one did.. The words in here were neatly written and it was a good read altogether.. Its always nice to hear/read some personal experiences, so that you can really learn from other’s mistakes.. If not “learn”, at least be “aware” of how things could turn out to be..

I can go on and on about this book, but let me try to keep things simple and be bang on my point.. The last chapter of this book almost made my eyes watery..  I read a sentence “Laugh and others will laugh with you; Cry and you cry alone”..  Through my personal experiences, I can strongly defend those words..

Going a few years back, I wouldn’t mind if someone teased me.. I personally felt that it brings in some sense of intimacy and also sparks up a lil bit of friendship… Recently, I realised how naive I have been all these years.. The hard truth was, some found me as an “amusement” or probably some “entertainment” thingy..And even worse, these “some” were whom I had trusted..  I have had similar experiences as the author.. "Some" who were with me all through the first 3 years of my college, avoided me in the final days.. The reason being “You are no more fun to be with”.. My reaction “ :| “… What else could I have done ?!..

People’s true colour are exposed when you are in a real problem.. “Every one who laughs with you is not your friend”.. Yet another line from the book, and how true it is.. Its been more than year now and hardly do I regret the happenings, and appreciate the fact that “Life minus Fake people” is always nice.. :)

2-0-6-1

Confused ?!.. What possibly on Earth could this post title refer to ?!.. Would it be my ATM card pin.. Well, I am not that dumb enough to do such a thing either.. So what could that be, lemme give a clue then. It would be easier to figure out if you were a cricket lover, probably a bowler.

Now, if you still couldn't figure out what the above digits mean :), let me put it straight-forward here. Those were my bowling figures when I played cricket yesterday. 2 Overs, 1 Wicket and 6 Runs conceded.

Yeah, this may sound a lil childish, but to me, it was one a-ha moment. It was the first time I played cricket in 2 years time. The happiness while running down the ground to bowl the first ball after years, made me feel so good. Though, it was a cherishing moment, *OUCH!!!!*, it hurts now.. Its been more than a day, and still I feel tired...

Going back to my school days (as far as my memory takes back), there have been days where I used to play cricket almost every day.. I still remember the hat-trick I took back in 6th standard... Wow, things which are not of much value, bring laughter even after 10 or 15 years... For sure, memories are sweet !!! :) .. Ciao !!!..

The "all new look"...

Well, its been some time I wrote something here.. Gradually, the frequency of my posts stand reduced, monotous life style takes the upper hand offering me a tough time with much lesser ideas to write about.. Apart from the official work, much of my free time in the past few months were spent by continuously refreshing my Gmail Inbox (closer accquaintances of me would know the reason) and periodic visits to the three tabs (Orkut, Facebook and Edulix) which always occupy my browser. Though I have found a way to kill the Orkut Tab,it seems, killing the other 2 tabs needs a more stronger heart ;) ..

As a measure to break the monotonous and gloomy feeling, I decided to give my "deary" blog a new look and also try to write some super-quality posts in here.. I am very sure about the first clause, but I can't really comment on the second one, as its reader specific.  So, I leave it as a task open to the readers (you) to rate the posts...

I eagerly await your valuable "2 cents" (read as comments).. Be it bad or good, your two cents are more worth for me than for anyone.. Scrolling through the archive, I found that I have recieved a maximum of 26 cents (13 comments) for my first story.. For some, or rather most of the posts, I have been left with an empty pocket ;) ...

The previous blog title "Scribblings - The Unexpressed Feelings !!!" seemed to make this blog more of a "rantings" site probably... I had been on the lookout for a good title, and voila, here I come up with a new one - "Caffeinated Thoughts".. I, a mad coffee lover, decided to dedicate this blog to one of my favourite drink - Coffee ;).. To the best of my senses, all my posts, thinkings etc, etc are purely due to the excessive caffeine prevailing in my body ;) ...

I sign off now, hoping to publish some nice posts and also full my purse with your valuable 2 cents.. Ciao !!! :)

Game Over !!!

When someone makes you feel low, you can forgive once.. Maybe thats HUMANITY..
What if, the same person makes you feel soo low, in a way that no one has made you feel the same in your 22 years of life..
Practically, it's GAME OVER !!!

Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya - Out of words....

People said it would be on Feb 14th.. Later, they said it was Feb 19th.. Finally, it was released on Feb 26th.. Yes, "Vinnaithaandi Varuvaya" (English meaning - Will you cross the skies for me ?!) - one of the movies I was really looking forward to.. Reading the review, I came to know that it's a beautiful movie given that you have all the time on earth..

On seeing the movie, I almost fell in love with it.. If you are in for some tickling laughter, or some flesh exposure, I would strongly advice you not to watch it.. But rather,if you wanna experience the reality, or your one kinda person who thinks smaller things bring soo much happiness to life, I am sure you would love the movie  the way I did.. This movie is all about class and elegance- a reality happening in many households in India..

The storyline is simple - a Hindu guy and a Christian girl, in love with each other.. Do they get a chance to hold their hands together?.. Regular storyline isn't it ?!.. Ofcourse yes, but the difference lies in the way it's expressed...

I don't really get this whole attitude (not only this, but many) prevailing in India.. When people talk about globalisation, world being a global village - why is it still that an inter-caste marriage is not supported in here ?!.. Finally, we end up in this usual blame game and the readymade solutions - our "customs" are different....What really are these "customs" ?!  If you start doing things in a new way, for a long time, it becomes a custom.. Only that, we have hiccups to start doing things in a new way..

One major reason for this hiccup being - "naalu paerru naalu vidhama paessuvanga" .. For all the non-tamil folks, the meaning of the above sentence is this "Society will speak different things about you".. And usually, people who represent that "society" are : someone who might have seen you while you were boarding a train, someone who might have wished you "All the best" when you wrote your 1 std. exam, someone who visits your house once in two years, or in the worst-case it might be someone whom you knew all through your life.. Why is it we give importance to the views of these people whom you meet once in a lifetime, just for living your own life the way you want it to be.. Shocked, still !!!!!!

In short - Vinnaithaandi varuvaya - slow, but lovely storyline, elegant music, attractive Trisha, smart Simbu, blatant truth !!!....  Have some patience, notice the smaller things, it would make you fall in love...

The dialogue I liked in the movie :- "Don't search for love, it would come to you one day.. Will make you go in a roller coaster, thats love - true love"..

P.S :- I dunno to whom the following line is addressed to.. So let me address it to the girl whom I ll meet in the future... "I wanna spend the best days of my life with you.... Will you cross the skies for me ?!?!.... " ;)

Bliss !!

New born kids bring a truckload of happiness to the family.. Skinny or plump, black or white, boy or girl - makes no difference to the aura of happiness they bring in.. All this I could experience it in a single pic - a pic of one of my classmate holding the baby with her guy.. Total Bliss !~!~!~!~! ....

Trade - One of its kind...

Trade - one such movie which leaves a brutal mark on you even after days...This movie is all about human trafficking, the dreadful things done against girls and children blackmailing and forcing them to indulge in pornographic films..

If you are looking for some high adrenaline action, mind boggling fantasy or eerie stillness, this movie for sure is not your cup of tea. Rather, this movie is all about truth - the real happenings in the world.. This movie has beautifully showcased the love between a brother and his sister...The plight of women, whose dreams stand shattered by amorous money-minded sharks leaves a stinging mark which would lurk human hearts for days to come..

Looking towards the day for the extinction of these "amorous money-minded sharks" whose sexual desires claim the lives of innocent women and children... Extinction, merely doesn't limit to the extinction of these vicious forms of human life, but also to nullify the demand for such films.. I know it doesn't work this way, but lets take a first step to cut down this tortuous trafficking measure...

P.S :- More about this movie - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0399095/

Weird,isn't it ?!?!

It was a beautiful evening during Fall, in the distant woods, my eyes caught sight of her pretty face.. With a light smile on my lips, I stood there listening to her speak, though I knew most of them were lies !!.. Those moments were the sweet moments of my life.. I find a strong attractive force pulling me towards her !!.. In those four days I spent with her, she changed me totally....

Hold on, wait !!!.. Neither was I trying to narrate my personal love experience nor write down a short story.. For those (people who love hearing tamil songs) who aren't familiar with the above lines, give it another quick read and then proceed ahead with the rest of the post..

Still not able to figure ?!?!.. I had just written a few lines of the famous tamil song "Oru maalai ila veyil neram.." from the movie Ghajini... So for those readers who have started to think "Is this guy that jobless to  translate a Tamil song into English ?!?!".. The answer is an obvious "NO!!!"..Well, this does signify something important.. I am sure most of you wouldn't have enjoyed/liked reading the story above when compared to listening to the song.. So what do we get out of this ?!.. Your point can be said in two different ways, one is in a bitter way and the other in a polished happy-go-lucky way..

For example,in situations where I would have said "No !!" to someone.. Others would have said "Yes !!", but end up not doing it, putting the blame on their "forgetfulness", though it was very much intentional.. And I get to be potrayed as the bad one here.. The lesson I learned from this experience, No is equivalent to Yes with an intentional memory loss.. I have had hundreds of other experiences where I get to be the that "bad guy" just for being open in my views.. Its high time, I start to learn this new lesson because there's always this saying "Be a Roman in Rome!!" ...
